SMC Makes Official Visit to Clayton Chapter
HAMPTON, GA - State Master Councilor Michael Griggers got a "boost" from his home chapter when he made his first official
visit to Clayton Chapter on August 4, 2005. There was a good turnout for the visit to Hampton Lodge in
Hampton, host of Clayton Chapter. "I was pretty nervous with this being my first visit, but the guys really 'lifted'
me up and made me relax," said the new SMC about his first official visit. "They are a great bunch of guys and they
didn't give me too hard [of] a time."
Michael explained why he had picked "Hollywood" as his term theme, "When Saturday comes around, instead of
thinking about going to the movies to have fun, I want everyone to think about going to a DeMolay event instead.
I don’t want us to just watch actors having fun on the screen. We can bring all that action and adventure to
life at our events." The SMC encouraged the members to come up with a script and make a DeMolay movie to be
shown at Conclave 2006. He told them they were all stars and they could win DeMolay Academy Awards for their efforts.
