GA DeMolays Travel to Washington, DC, Help With Multijurisdictional Degree
WASHINGTON, DC - Four DeMolays and two advisors from Georgia made the trip to
Washington, DC on May 21-23 to help with the conferral of degrees for candidates from
Virginia, Maryland, Deleware, and Washington, DC. The degrees were held in the House
of the Temple, the headquarters of the Southern Jurisdiction of the Scotthish Rite.
Making the trip were John Harris, Peter Bard, and Jean-Luc Fontentot from Samuel S.
Lawrence Chapter and James O'Neal from Middle Georgia Chapter. In the Initiatory
Degree John Harris performed First Preceptor, Peter Bard performed Sixth Preceptor,
and James O'Neal performed Senior Councilor. The members were accompanied on the trip
by Dad James Bard and Dad David Fontenot, both of Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter in Marietta.
While in Washington the group toured the International Spy Museum, the Air and Space Museum
of the Smithsonian, the George Washington Masonic Monument, the Lincoln Memorial, the
Vietnam Memorial, and the World War II Memorial. The group enjoyed meals at the ESPN Zone
and the Hard Rock Cafe while they were in the Washington.

James O'Neal, Peter Bard, and John Harris at the George

of Washington is a scale version of one that is much larger in the
atrium of the monument, which was donated to the monument by DeMolay.
