Georgia DeMolays Perform Well at Old South Tournament
NEW ORLEANS, LA - Members from three Chapters in Georgia made the trip to New Orleans on March 19-21
to compete in the Old South Ritual Tournament. The Tournament, one of the truly national tournaments in
DeMolay drew competitors from as far away as Connecticut and California. Georgia DeMolay featured very
prominently in the tournament with the following members taking firsts in:
- Seventh/First Preceptor duo: James O'Neal, Middle Georgia Chapter
- Fifth/Sixth Preceptor duo: Peter Bard, Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter (Second year)
- Magnificent Seven (All Seven Preceptors), Open division: Geoff Bard, Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter
- Master Councilor, Initiatory Degree: Geoff Bard, Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter (Second year)
- Jacques DeMolay: Robert Warr, Augusta Chapter
Sunday, March 21, was also the Devotional Day Obligatory Day and State Chaplain Geoff Bard was called
upon by Dad Ridgeway, the Tournament Director, to lead the devotional service on Sunday morning.
Also on Sunday morning, Dad Jim Bard was named to the Board of Directors of the Tournament.
It was not all work for the weekend as the members also took time to have dinner at the Hard
Rock Cafe and Bubba Gump's restaurants while in New Orleans as well time to explore the famous
French Quarter.
