Samuel S. Lawrence Chapter Attends National Ritual Tournament
WASHINGTON, DC - On the weekend of September 12-14, three members of Samuel S. Lawrence
Chapter attended and competed in the Mid-Atlantic Tournament of Champions in Washington, DC.
Geoff Bard, Peter Bard, and Adam Fowler made the trip to our nation's capital along with
advisor Jim Bard to attend this nationwide competition. Chapters from as far away as Illinois
and Iowa were in attendance. Geoff Bard won first place in the All Seven Preceptors and Orator
competitions at the Championship level and Peter Bard received a recognition certificate for
achieving a score of 950 out of a possible 1000 in the Preceptor Trio competition. In addition
to competing in the tournament, they also got a tour of the Capitol building from Senator
Zell Miller's staff, visited the Smithsonian, went to the Jefferson Memorial, and took in many
other sights around Washington.
