About Georgia DeMolay

Photo 1 The Associated DeMolay Chapters of Georgia (also known as Georgia DeMolay) is the collective group of Georgia's DeMolay Chapters. The purpose of forming this Association is to promote the general interests of the Order of DeMolay in Georgia by fostering the development of inter-chapter interest, by providing opportunities for the exchange of ideas and information between the chapters and by the distribution of information throughout the membership.

Membership in Georgia DeMolay is limited to Chapters in the State of Georgia which maintain good standing with DeMolay International and Georgia DeMolay. This includes filing all paperwork on time (such as Form 10s and the Annual Financial Report), having an appropriate number of qualified advisors, and paying insurance and per capita tax fees annually.

Photo 2 The adult leader of Georgia DeMolay is called the "Executive Officer". He is appointed by DeMolay International's Grand Master. The Executive Officer is DeMolay International's primary representative in the State of Georgia. He oversees all activities of the State Association and of each Chapter within the State of Georgia. The Executive Officer also appoints a staff of other adult workers, including District Governors (the Executive Officer's representatives in geographic regions of Georgia) and Activity Directors (responsible for specific administrative duties and serving as a liason to the Executive Officer for certain groups). He also appoints Program Coordinators, who are responsible for overseeing various DeMolay programs such as the Order of Knighthood, the Sweetheart Program, the State Parents' Club, and the Chevalier Program.

Photo 3 The youth leader of Georgia DeMolay is called the "State Master Councilor". He is elected annually by the delegation of Georgia DeMolay, which consists of a maximum of 10 members from each Chapter in the State Association. Under the supervision of the Executive Officer, the State Master Councilor is responsible for planning the activities of Georgia DeMolay for the year. These include State Events as well as membership-development, educational, social, and civic service programs endorsed by Georgia DeMolay.

Each year, Georgia DeMolay hosts four State Events. Conclave is Georgia DeMolay's annual convention, and it is the highlight of the Georgia DeMolay year. The State Master Councilor is elected at Conclave and the delegation holds its annual business meeting. The Holiday Formal is an annual statewide dance held during the Christmas season. The Tournament of Champions, or T.O.C., is the annual ritualistic competition, where Chapters and members compete in the ceremonial work of DeMolay. Spring Jamboree, or Spring Jam, is the annual sports competition, where Chapters and members compete in such events as softball, basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee.
